Pop-Ups at Yarnton 2022

As a leading local business, we want to show our support for local start-ups. In 2021 we created a pop-up space in store where new creative businesses can gain wider exposure. Take a look below who’ll be Under our Wing in store in 2022. We aim to help new fledglings fly. Why not call by and lend your support too?

29th June – 3rd July

Joyful was founded by Oxfordshire sisters Clare and Alice, both teachers of design since 2010. With extensive experience within the design and fashion industry, they are proud to be an online eco-conscious creative brand selling art and craft kits for children and adults, as well as sustainable lifestyle products for home, beauty and fashion.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything they do: the kits and packaging being reusable, recyclable or biodegradable after use. Many of the adults’ ranges use recycled and up-cycled materials that would otherwise go to waste or to landfill.

The duo believes that creativity helps children of all ages to develop their learning. They also strongly believe that creativity supports positive mental health in both children and adults. This is why they have also developed collections of kits specifically for adults who want to embrace a craft to learn new skills or develop existing ones and to help improve their overall mental health and wellbeing.

Call by Yarnton and say hello to Clare and Alice. We hope to welcome them back to Yarnton for a Joyful workshop later in the year. Stay tuned!

a greetings card with garden themed design on a white wooden table surrounded by a mug, scissors and a plantMAY I DESIGN
9th – 15th May 2022

Founded by Fine Art graduate Meg Harris in 2020, May I Design offers a quirky range of stationery, homewares and greetings cards.

Having returned to uni to study textile pattern design, Meg specialises in machine embroidery and the art of free motion decorative motifs. Meg’s designs are inspired by objects from daily life. Nothing is too mundane, from wellington boots and doors to cheeky seagulls. She loves to use pops of colour and pattern in her designs, which are printed onto her range of products. Meg’s aim is to add happy textiles into kitchens across the UK!

Having taught Freehand Machine Embroidery for several years, Meg now has a studio space in Witney, Oxfordshire. Here she teaches students to ‘embrace the wobble’ and draw with their sewing machines in her workshops.

Meg has just released a brand-new Gardening design to her range, which she is launching at her Pop-up at Yarnton Home and Garden. She looks forward to seeing you!

A framed picture of a hand-painted bee on a window sill next to a bee printed mug and some bright yellow tulips.. Mug and iframed illustration by Liz Corley Art.

LIZ CORLEY ART
14th – 18th April 2022

Liz Corley began creating nature in art in 2020 after moving from London to the Cotswolds.

Inspired by the beautiful countryside surrounding her home, Liz developed her artwork by printing her charming illustrations of bees and wildlife onto giftware and products for the home. Her commitment to the environment by helping the plight of bees and giving back to woodlands, brought about the creation of her artwork onto reclaimed wood.

The result is a unique collection of hand-painted wooden artwork. Sustainable and finished in environmentally-friendly varnish, the range can be hung outside, protected from inclement weather and UV rays.

LITTLE FOXGLOVE
6th – 10th April 2022

Based in Oxfordshire, Little Foxglove is a real family affair.  This small business was founded in 2017 by Naomi Constable during the sleep-deprived haze of maternity leave. Keen to build a family-friendly business, Naomi and her illustrator husband, Richard, started to design and produce bespoke printed fun and vibrant t-shirts, cards and gifts.

Everything is designed and created in-house, so you won’t find Little Foxglove’s adorable characters – like Roary the T-Rex and Magnolia the Unicorn – anywhere else. Naomi produces each item carefully in her home studio. Everything is professionally printed, expertly hand pressed and lovingly wrapped in recyclable packaging.
