Popping up at Yarnton from 16th to 19th December will be local start-up Herberowe Candle Company. Inspired by apothecary and natural botanicals, Herberowe handmake home fragrances to create a feeling of wellbeing and mood-boosting energy.
The small company began out of necessity and obsession, spending 2020 developing their ideas and learning their craft to make sure their candles are the best they can be. Since then, the business has grown beyond all expectations and the brand has been embraced by some of Oxfordshire’s favourite retailers and has a loyal fan-base.
Herberowe’s candles are made from a blend of rapeseed and coconut wax and are hand poured in small batches in their micro wax kitchen and garden workshop in Lower Heyford. The diffusers are made from the most ecologically sound base liquid available. They also offer unique fragranced “waxlette” tablets – an eco-conscious alternative to chemical air fresheners.
The company name, Herberowe, is also the name of an ancient landscape feature nestled in the countryside near their home in the Cherwell Valley. They discovered the name on an old map and decided to adopt it and save it from being lost. It is the perfect name for their range of home fragrance products which are inspired by the powerful, natural effects of herbs, plants, leaves and flowers, especially as many of the fragrances contain pure essential oils. Herberowe’s vision for the future is to create their own limited edition ranges of signature fragrances that mark the changing of the seasons…watch this space!
